1st Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) 2005

The First Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) was organized by Pakistan Publishers & Booksellers Association from December 8 to 11, 2005. It was refreshing to see long queues forming to enter Hall 4 where reputed Pakistani and international exhibitors participated in more than 120 stalls with their offering of books on all conceivable topics.

The fair witnessed a frenzy of visitors from all walks of life, families, groups of students, scholars, leading authors, journalists and businessmen all seems to be delighted at the wonderful offer of books at the Fair. More than 1,00,000 visitors came to the Fair in the four days.

2nd Karachi International Book Fair 2006

2nd Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) was held at Karachi Expo Centre from 13-17 December 2006, organized by the Pakistan Publishers & Booksellers Association in association with National Book Foundation.

The second edition of Karachi International Book Fair was much anticipated by the book lovers and due to the tremendous interest in the event, another hall was added and the total number of exhibitors doubled. More than 175000 visitors came to the fair.

3rd Karachi International Book Fair 2007

3rd Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) was held at Karachi Expo Centre in Hall no. 1,2 & 3 from 30th November- 4th December 2007, organized by the Pakistan Publishers & Booksellers Association in association with The National Book Foundation.

In 2007 the covered area increased by 100% and covered 3 halls. This was the biggest event of its kind in Pakistan with over 400 exhibitors and more than 200,000 visitors from all walks of life to this phenomenal Book Fair.

4th Karachi International Book Fair 2008

4th Karachi International Book Fair 2008 (KIBF/08), is being organized by Pakistan Publishers & booksellers Association (PPBA) in association with National Book Foundation (Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan) at Karachi Expo Center (Hall 1,2 & 3) from 26 - 30 December 2008.

The KIBF is the premier event of its type in Pakistan. This annual event brings together domestic and international publishers, booksellers, librarians and institutional customers. It provides excellent opportunities to readers to view and purchase the best Pakistani and international books and publications at affordable prices. It also offers an opportunity to writers to interact with publishers. The positive reception to the programs increased the numbers of participants and attendees every year which is the evidence that Book Fair is a successful event.

5th Karachi International Book Fair 2009

KIBF is a non- profit venture organized by Pakistan Publishers and Book Sellers Association in association with National Book Foundation (Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan.

The fair started on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 12: 00 pm. The event was held at Hall# 1, 2 & 3 of the Karachi Expo Centre, Main University Road, near Civic Centre. Karachi International Book Fair is a highly respected annual event that leaves a positive, lasting impression among sponsors, authors and attendees alike. The positive response of the participants and the attendees every year are the evidence that the Karachi International Book Fair is, and will continue to be, recognized as the premier literary event of its kind in Pakistan.

Book fairs are helpful for attracting International booksellers /Publishers to invest in Pakistan. In this fair several new books were introduced by leading publishers from UK, U.S.A, Singapore, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The 5th KIBF has closed its doors on Monday to the book lovers after five days of intellectual activity that saw staggering sale of the books in any book expo in the country.
